T C Southwell Books

About the Author

T. C. Southwell was born in Sri Lanka and moved to the Seychelles with her family when she was a baby. She spent her formative years exploring the islands – mostly alone. So, her imagination flourished and she developed a keen love of other worlds. The family travelled through Europe and Africa and, after the death of her father, settled in South Africa.

She wrote stories at school, and filled many notebooks with tales penned in longhand. She started writing again in her mid-twenties, and her first series was Slave Empire. Soon after that, she wrote Demon Lord, then The Cyber Chronicles and The Queen's Blade, and finally The Broken World. Initially, she had no ambition to have the books published, but wrote them purely for her own enjoyment, so she could read them again. Only much later did she consider sending them to publishers and find an agent.

T. C. Southwell has now written over thirty fantasy and sci-fi novels, a screenplay and five treatments. After numerous unsuccessful attempts at finding a publisher, Demon Lord was published in South Africa in 2006, but, due to poor publicity and subsequent abysmal sales, the sequel, Dark God, was never published. In 2010, she gave up trying to find a mainstream publisher and took the independent route via e-books. She stopped working as a freelance SEO specialist in the IT industry in 2011 to become a full-time writer. She created the art on this website and designed and created the covers of her books.

Her hobbies include motorcycling, writing, reading and art. A confirmed bachelorette, she lives in Cape Town and spends most of her time at her PC, writing, editing and creating digital art for her book covers.
